More than 30 years of experience as an executive in the Chilean financial sector, developing extensive expertise in investment management.
In the first decade of his career, he developed his financial expertise as CFO of Banco BICE – managing nearly USD 1 billion in financial investments – to later focus his activity as Managing Director of the Investment and Asset Management Area of Grupo Security (Inversiones Security), a division that managed over USD 8 billion, with over 90% of assets and income coming from institutional and high-net-worth clients, in businesses as diverse as fund management, wealth management, distribution of alternative asset funds, global custody and brokerage, and securitization, leading over 400 collaborators in 7 companies, 4 of them regulated entities.
His experience in both public and private financial markets, asset-liability management, capital and debt issuances, and investment vehicle structuring, complement Ardatz’s real estate expertise, adding to it a professional relationship of over 6 years with its founders.
His experience includes over thirty years as of board member of regulated and non-regulated companies, in various financial and non-financial industries. Currently, he participates in the boards of leading companies in retail and consumer credit, pension fund management, dairy products, and mining and industrial industry (limes and limestones). He is a member of oversight committees of various investment funds, and is Co-founder and Non-Executive Partner of Ventum Group.
He is an Agricultural Engineer and holds an M.S. in Agricultural Economics from Universidad Catolica de Chile, and later continued his studies at Stanford University, where he obtained his Master of Arts and his Ph.D. in Applied Economics. Also in the academic field, between 1998 and 2018, he was Professor of the Derivative Instruments and Risk Management course in the MBA Program of the School of Management of Universidad Catolica de Chile.
